9/11 Tribute Rally and Ride


The International Association of Fire Fighters Motorcycle Group andOrange County Choppers will be hosting the 2011 Fire Fighters 9/11– Always Remember & Never Forget Tribute Rally in Newburgh, New York, September 9th, – 12th, 2011. Thousands from North America will be riding into Newburgh to join in on all of the festivities. This Rally, associated rides and events are open to the General Public.

There will be three [3] days of fun, OCC’s 9/11 Tribute Custom Built Motorcycle Unveil, a Day Ride with OCC and “Friends of Paul Revior”, OCC Custom Motorcycle Display, Motorcycle Pedia Museum Bike Display and Tour, Fire Fighter Apparatus Displays, Fire Fighters Extrication Demonstration, Kids Corner with Petting Zoo, Inflatable Bounce Houses and Obstacle Course, and Sparky, Vendors, Live Entertainment, Great Food & Beverage, and just an all around great time for everyone.

In addition, on September 11th, 2011 we will be hosting the 9/11 Tribute Ride from Newburgh, NY to the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in New York City. The 9/11 Tribute Ride will ensure that our National Rally will be an uplifting one for our members, our families, friends, loved ones, and our communities. The 9/11 Tribute Ride will help us celebrate the lives, heroism and accomplishments of our Nation’s bravest of the brave our/your Fire Fighters and all 1st Responders, especially those that we have lost in the Line of Duty on September 11, 2001. If you can’t join us for the three day rally, please feel feel to join us on September 11th, 2011 on the 9/11 Tribute Ride.

Friday, September 9th, 2011: Riders will start arriving in Newburgh, NY and the IAFF-MG 9/11 Tribute Rally & Ride will be staged in the parking lot of OCC and the Hilton Garden Inn. The IAFF-MG will have a booth for rally registration, check-in, membership information, event information, ride routes, arranging service for your bikes and any other assistance our riders may need while in Newburgh. Check-in will start at 1200 and all riders/passengers are requested to check-in upon arrival and to obtain updated rally/ride information.

Sunday, September 11th, 2011 ~ 9/11 Tribute Ride to NYC: The IAFF-MG will be hosting the 9/11 Tribute Ride from Newburgh, NY to the FDNY Fallen Fire Fire Fighters Memorial in New York City. The FDNY Fire Riders Motorcycle Club and IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger will be leading our police escorted ride along with riders from the Motor Maids, Rolling Thunder and the Patriot Guards.

This ride is OPEN to the public! All are invited to participate, ride from Newburgh to the Fire Fighters Memorial and show your support for our Nations Fire Fighters, Paramedics and their families. If cannot attend the 3-Day 9/11 Tribute Rally, you can still participate in teh 9/11 Tribute Ride on September 11th, 2011. Click Here to pre-register for the Day Ride Only or register on-site the day of the ride. the registration Fee for the day ride is $20.00 for the Rider and $5.00 for the Passenger.

The OCC service department will be open the hours noted below during the 9/11 Tribute Rally. Rally attendees will receive service at the discounted rate of $65/hour. Moroney’s services “all” makes and models of motorcycles… Moroney’s will also be offering service discounts to all attendees of the 9/11 Tribute Rally. They will also pick-up within a 50 mile radius at no cost should you need assistance in getting your motorcycle to their Service Department. IAFF-MG 9/11 Tribute Rally ~ Special Guest Tattoo Artists

At the request of many of our IAFF-MG members, Chris Valle a well know Tattoo Artist and owner of Springs Ink Tattoo Studio has been invited back along two special guest tattoo artists Amy Nicoletto  from L.A. Ink on TLC Channel and Permanent Mark from Permanent Mark on the Spike Channel will be on-site for the IAFF-MG 9/11 Tribute Rallyt. Chris and the other artists will be on-site at the OCC/Hilton Rally locationbetween September 9th – 12th, 2011 to showcase his/their artwork and tattoo IAFF and IAFF-MG members and their guests. They will have various IAFF, IAFF-MG, 911 Memorial and Fire Fighter designs along with all of their outstanding designs for you to choose from. Springs Ink will be offering a 25% discount to IAFF and IAFF-MG Members and their guests for all tattoo design and work.

So if you are interested in getting a tattoo while attending the IAFF-MG 2011 rally, make sure you check-in at their booth and schedule your appointment. If you have your own ideas and/or designs for a tattoo, bring it with you. They will be able to accommodate all requests.

9/11 Tribute Rally Rides and Ride Routes

September 10th, 2011 ~ OCC Charity Ride for “Friends of Paul Revoir”

Orange County Choppers will be hosting a charity ride, September 10th, at 10AM to benefit the “Friends of Paul Revoir” charity. Paul is a friend of IAFF Local 589 [City of Newburgh] and was seriously injured in an ATV accident this last year and as a result is now paralyzed. The charity was created to provide him with the support and tools necessary to fully recover and lead a long and fulfilling life. Riders can register on-line or on-site day of the ride. Staging area is the OCC/Hilton parking lots from 0700 – 945. Kick stands up at 1000. The ride will be through the Hudson Valley led by members of the OCC crew and will return to OCC between 1200/1230 where lunch will be provided. Click Here to Register on-line for the OCC Charity Ride or register the day of the ride at 0900. September 11th, 2011 ~ IAFF-MG’s “Fire Fighters Sunrise Gathering”:

There will be a special IAFFMG Firefighters Sunrise Gatherings staging at 0700 the Motorcycle Museum [250 Lake Street]. Coffee/Donuts will be provided by the Museum and you will be able to tour the museum prior to departing on the Sunrise Ride to OCC. The exact route is being finalized and will be provided at check-in at the Rally. 0830 Kick Stands up – Ride will be led by he FDNY NYC Fire Riders Motorcycle Club and IAFF General President Harold A. Schaitberger. The Route takes us along the Hudson, past the Newburgh’s FFs Memorial as part of their morning service and back to OCC to be staged to lead  the 9/11 Tribute Ride to the FDNY FF Memorial in NYC. Click Here to review the “draft” ride route for this event. September 11th, 2011 ~ IAFF-MG’s 9/11 Tribute Ride to FDNY’s Fire Fighters Memorial

Staging for the ride will be at the Motorcycle Museum [250 Lake Ave] for all IAFF-MG/IAFF Members/Riders only. All other riders will stage at OCC/Hilton Parking Lots. Staging area will open at both locations at 0700.

There will be on-site check-in/registration for those that have not already checked in or registered for the 9/11 Tribute Ride previously on September 9th or 10th, 2011. Each Rider for the 9/11 Tribute Ride “must” have a colored dot on their headlight to get into motorcycle procession at either staging area. Colored dots will be given to riders at check-in.

The FDNY Fire Riders, General President Schaitberger and IAFFMG/OCC Riders will lead the MC Procession followed by the Motor Maids, and Rolling Thunder then all other riders… We may insert other clubs if they are riding in groups [TBD]. This ride is escorted by state/county/local Law Enforcement Agencies [one way]. Tolls will be prepaid with controlled/open lanes for our riders. Once we arrive at the Memorial we will park in the streets between 96th Street and 103rd Street off Riverside Drive, which is directly in front of the Firefighters Memorial. We will have a ceremony/wreath lying at the memorial with a few speakers and then be released. At that point, riders will be free to visit Fire Stations, sight see, stop for lunch and head back to Newburgh at their leisure. We will provide riders with 2 different ride routes back to Newburgh [See Links Below].  For those wishing to immediately return to Newburgh, a group will return from the memorial going back the same route it came leaving NYC NLT 1400.

Option No. 1 Riders will return on their own or in your smaller groups – No Escorts.

Option No. 2 Riders will return on their own or in smaller groups – No Escorts.

Option No. 3 A group will be leaving NYC right after the Memorial Service around 1400. They will be using the same route back with no escorts. Reverse the directions from the 9/11 Tribute Ride to NYC.
